Paper of the Year and Best Paper Awards

With the encouragement of the success of the First Asia Pacific Conference on Gambling and Commercial Gaming Research (APCG2012), and with an aim to advance scientific research on gambling and commercial gaming, APAGS is pleased to announce that the Second Asia Pacific Conference on Gambling and Commercial Gaming Research (APCG2013) will establish one Paper of the Year award and five Best Paper awards. All papers accepted by the conference that are presented by participants who would like their papers considered are eligible for these awards, including those presented by members involved in APAGS’s governance.

The author(s) of the 2013 Paper of the Year will be invited to present their paper in a plenary session, and will be awarded MOP32,000 (about USD4,000) in cash, together with a certificate.

The author(s) of each Best Paper will be awarded MOP12,000 (about USD1,500) in cash, together with a certificate.

The 2013 Paper of the Year and Best Papers will be published in the first issue of APAGS’s official journal: Journal of Gambling and Commercial Gaming Research (temporary title). This will be an online open-access journal free to both authors and readers. To help the authors improve the quality of these papers, the editorial board will provide two referees’ constructive reports for each paper. After the conference, the authors are requested to revise their papers, incorporating the referees’ comments and feedback from conference participants within two months.

To apply for the awards, a full unpublished paper (APA style) should be submitted before October 1, 2013. The applicants and their coauthors should agree to publish their paper in the journal if it is awarded the Best Paper or the 2013 Paper of the Year.

The journal also welcomes paper submissions from those who do not apply for the awards or do not attend the conference.
