Dr. Peter Harvey
Professor Peter Harvey has a background in literature and mathematics teaching, education consulting and community development work. He is currently the Director of the Flinders Centre for Gambling Research and Manager of the Statewide Gambling Therapy Service at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia.
In the past 15 years Peter has led a range health systems development and chronic condition research programmes in Australia and has published widely in the field of chronic condition management and self-management research. More recently he has published in the area of gambling research and is the author of a numerous project reports and book chapters and a book published with Nova Science, New York, in 2011 on the principles of self-management; ‘Self-management and the health care consumer’.
Peter is currently working on research into the efficacy of various approaches to treatment for people with gambling disorders in addition to his ongoing work in chronic illness management research.
